How to use Cubase Quick controls without a midi controller?

Hope you’re doing well!!

Recently I’ve been wondering if there is any way to assign Quick controls to midi cc parameters but without having a midi controller.

Hope this question doesn’t sound weird tho.

The reason of this question is mainly because I want to move some knobs of the vst instruments within the piano roll without having to go to Cubase automation. It is so much quicker to use CC to control stuff and draw it while I’m using the piano roll, but unfortunately the plugin itself doesn’t have a Midi assign function. The only way I see it could work is by using QC, but I don’t find a way to use Midi cc as QC without having a midi controller. I don’t care is there is a way to use Midi cc with the plugin knobs that is not by QC.

I’m looking forward for seeing some solutions!

Thanks

Which version of Cubase?

Cubase 13

I would earnestly appreciate anyone’s help :slightly_smiling_face:

Standard CC MIDI Learn – Why Not in the Piano Roll?

I’ve been digging into this before ans well, and it seems like there’s no way to map QC automation directly in the piano roll—at least not without jumping through hoops. For composers who prefer to keep everything in the piano roll (instead of bouncing between automation lanes), this would be a huge workflow boost.

It’d be amazing if Cubase could add native support for CC MIDI learn mapping (for the piano roll), or if plugin devs made it a standard feature. So many other plugins already do this, and it just makes sense for efficiency.

Has anyone else run into this? Found a clever workaround?

a bit late to the party but yes you can do this. you can make a virtual channel with LoopMIDI. theres like 3 ways to do this. if you still need to let me know.
