I usually arrange our backings in a way that they do not start at: 0001.1.1.000.
I set the Start Marker in every Song (individual) so that ist starts with the count-in-track for the the drummer. I also set the End Marker individual to the End of the longest used Backingtrack in each song.
Then I used this Song-Action (see below), hoping, that the “playhead” will jump from the end of Song 1 (End Marker) to the Start Marker of Song 2 and position the playhead at the Start-Marker position but it always jumps to the 0001.1.1.000 position. I would like to start the “next Song” indivdual via my Helix using Midi (Midi works fine here) What do I miss here to get this working?
I would expect, that at the end of this song (reaching the End Marker) there is a delay of one second and than the playhead moves to the Start Marker of the next song?!
Exactly! And it’s working to me as expected. Just an idea: in my experience, I have to click “start at start marker” for every song …by song…, or at least had to do when put my setlist together.
I can’t remember if it didn’t apply to “all songs”
or missed something
“End” denotes the last event end, while “End Marker” denotes - well, that
Probably you want “End Marker + 1 Second”, which is not available, but you can just set the End Marker a second later to acheive the same result.
OK, when I use the following Song-Actions it works as expected.
VL moves on to the next Song in the Setlist and positions the playhead at the Start Marker Position and stops there! Perfect!
I did not test all possible adjustments but it seems that “End plus 1 Second” does also work but the “Do this for all Songs” is not working. I had to set “Start at Start Marker” manually in every Song to make it work.
Hi @Detgyver ! tested quickly as coffee break. Working me as remembered:
End+/- 1sec & “do this for all songs” works me like charm (curr:1.4.56… also used for very long before discovered how easy to set EndMarker with a single click)
Meanwhile “Start at Start Marker” has to be clicked song by song (regardless of checkbox above “Do this for all Songs”…)
I can’t decide if it’s more future proof like this or just simply not yet included in array in “do this for all songs”. Currently would vote to apply all clicked/set values together for allSongs, but I can live w.o. too…. something like 60-40%
Hi @fkalmus you are right!
I also tested “End+1 Second” works perfect. I corrected my posting already.
The “Start at Start Marker” setting has to be set manually.
I like the idea of distributing this settings using “Do this for all songs” but knowing now how it works makes me think that “Do this for all Songs” is not realy neccesary for me.
Hi @musicullum , that soundz great
And just a slight logical change in GUI… for future, what if put checkbox “Do this for all Songs” as the last item, make it very clear to newborn users?
I’m sorry, caught just today (because temporary placed start marker for 1.Song further away from beginning ) It seems to me:
“Start At Start Marker” is not jumping to StartMarker at ProjectLoad.
When navigating to 2nd Song and back, then start-point-to-marker set correctly. This is exclusive to project load only… it’s a really major one, just realised that…
I’m soo sorry, plz tell me to stop! If that counts, it resets back to 00:00 at AudioDev change or Panic even if last manually located pos is !'= 00:00 (before doing audiodev ch / panic), but probably the fix will apply to these ones too
and just one last thought: what if allow user to play if manually placing playhead ahead EndMarker. (like at CYCLE, if clicking out of, it keeps playing timeline forewer)? Currently it forbids to play a single second if locating ahead EndMarker)
after EndMarker, yes! (sorry for confusing expression). Not necessarry if it’s going against some other point of view or concep or safety reason, but I find it sometimes annoying need to re-locate end marker to be able play from or look a certain place (sure this is for practicing, variating, preparing process… absolutely not for “showtime”)
Guten Morgen @musicullum , were thinking all night… these such rare situations, meight be better to leave them for now to avoid wasted programming time and any potential unforeseen consequences or side-effects. What are your “day to day” experiences regarding?
It’s working correctly at project start, thank you
P.s: It seems, only case it isn’t starting from StartMarker, in the case of changing setlist (meanwhile personally I’m a one playlist / gig player).
