How would you go about creating a solid line that turns into a dashed line (see image)?

Hi everyone!
I am looking for a way to create these lines in Dorico. Do you have any idea how one could achieve this? I don’t know how I can create a line that turns into a dashed line starting from the center or any arbitrary point I choose.

I know there is an option in the line editor to have something like a symbol in the middle of the line, and I have used that function in the past, as you can see. It’s just tricky to align the pasted symbol with the rest of the line, but it works, in the end.

Let me know if you have some ideas.
Thanks for your help in advance!

There’s a half-dashed option under tapered curve, but it can’t have a centered annotation.

The other one, actually two lines, and adjusted in Engrave mode.

Here’s another option with a piano pedal line with a retake and a dashed end segment. Has to be moved in Engrave mode, too, though.

For the pedal line, you can adjust the retake height and width, among other things, under Library→Engraving Options→Lines

Thanks a lot for these suggestions. The last one with the pedal seems to be the most versatile for me, as I can choose where the line becomes dashed. The retake can be flattened via the Engraving Options when I am done tweaking all of the positions.

Another annoying thing I noticed:
there doesn’t seem to be an option to create the same effect with braces, as they become dashed in two places…

I think you’re right, it’s the mirror curve.
