I beg for your help, feel so hopeless (Cubase 14)

i am using cubase 14 pro, i have some audio tracks in 48k sample rate (not 44.1 as usual), with 24 bits.

when i open these files using window media player, they sounds fine.

but when i drag those files into my cubase pro 14, they become strange.

what’s strange about it , is that the timeline is wrong. for example, one of the track is the drum track, it started some drum pattern and fill in (which is correct), but when i import them to cubase, the starting point will be randomly jump to the middle of the track , instead of what it is supposed to be.

i have entered the “studio setup” and the audio interface control panel (focusrite 2i2 2th gen), and set 48k sample rate already.

not sure why is it, also, one interesting thing is that, i create an empty project file, then import the audio track, say the timecode position is from 0:00 , and then I tried to move it to 0:10, supposing when i playback from 0:00, it will not have any sound until the track begin in 0:10. but during the empty timeline, i play it, it still has some sound coming out, i dont know where these sounds come from , generally it is impossible to have sound if there is no any audio wave between the timecode of 0:00 - 0:10

so, can you please help me to figure out what is happening and how to play those 48k sample rate audio file properly?

or teach me how to setup properly from creating the empty projects? thank you.

I have sent an email to customer support but never getting the feedback, so hopeless.

also, I cannot record anything, even when i create the new project, just add one track and press record, it said: recording error , too many tracks recording,

please help, guys

more info:

the nightmare started back to the day when i first change the sample rate. then all kinds of strange situation happens, even when i downloaded the latest version from official website and reinstall , still no use.

You might try to remove those files from the Pool the reimport them, as removing them from the Arranger doesn’t actually delete them..

Also go to Project Setup and double check project sample rate before importing any audio.

edit: ya I don’t know what that “too many tracks recording” issue is but sounds like a possible culprit.

thanks for your reply, but the main point is that i created a new empty, the pool has no files.

but once import those files, then the situation will be the same

i also found that, let’s say i have a track for 1mins of guitar sound, and then when i import the track, it will begins with a random point of middle, also the early part of the guitar playing will disappear (no waves form for the early part, just like i cropped the early part which i did not)

Check your Project Setup to ensure the project itself is running at 48Khz.

yes, the project setup is running at 48Khz.

do you guys know how to contact the customer support..the official website seems not working , when i press contact support, it will stay on the same page.

Did you confirm there is nothing wrong with drives?? default project location (when creating) that is on correct drive with space.
No write issues on that drive folder (use explorer to check also).

oh god.. i think i am so stupid..
I have tried reinstalling the cubase several times, check with the export settings..etc
but i have not noticed that ,it is related to the focusrite firmware problems..
now all problems have been solved just simply updated the firmware.
thanks god.
anyway, thank you very much for all of your generous support (also with the other members)
have a nice day.
