I cannot get Cubase 12 to detect my Yeti Orb USB microphone

I recently bought a new Yeti Orb microphone and would love to use it to record, but nothing I do will make this god forsaken program see the stupid mic; I am beyond upset and at my wit’s end. As I understand it, ASIO4ALL usually helps out in situations like these. However, I use a MacBook Pro and this driver is not available for MacOS. I use a hub to connect the mic as macbooks only have usb-c and would not otherwise work with a usb-a type connection.

I am using the Built In audio driver.

The only audio device available when I click on audio connections is “built in audio”

I have even created an aggregate device in an attempt to get this to work with macos audio system.

I also have given cubase 12 microphone access.

I am just not sure why I cannot get this thing to work. It’s so upsetting that one of the most expensive DAWs out there constantly gives me issues with audio. I should have gone with Ableton aughhh help.

The issue is your “god forsaken mic,” not the “program.” :stuck_out_tongue: It’s just a USB device to the system, which just happens to be a microphone. It’s not an “audio interface.”

You’ll just need to build an Aggregate Device to combine the input of the USB mic with your output device. Same thing needs to happen with something like the Røde NT1 mic:

Then you’ll go into Cubase Studio Setup and add this Aggregate Device as your audio interface:

Configure appropriate I/O in Audio Connections and you’re ready to rock and roll.

Edit: Of course, you’ll want to name the Aggregate Device something cool so you’ll know what it is.
