When I go to print, I end up with one or 2 bars on page 2. I would like to fit those few bars onto page 1. I have done this before by going to write mode highlighting the part the I need and then in engraving options select “make into frame” option.
I have been trying to do this, but get nothing that makes sense.
I will try and attach a picture of the results I get.
Also I would like to eliminate the flow title, but when I delete it in engrave it still shows on the printed page.
Thank you
Graham
This “mess” of music is caused by having a System Break (or Frame Break) at the very start, with its properties set to “Wait for the next break”. Dorico uses that to force music into a single system or frame. If you try to fit too much music into a single frame – that’s what you get.
I suspect you’ve hidden the Breaks, so you can’t see the signposts.
Delete the Breaks, and show us the music as Dorico lays it out.
The best way of dealing with a couple of extra bars is either to reduce the Note Spacing value for the layout in Layout Options by one or two steps; or you can select something in the last bar and knock it back to the previous system by pressing , (comma) in Engrave mode.
benwiggy covered the systems issue. To get rid of the flow title, you can remove the flow title in the template (be sure to do it on both left and right page versions). Alternately you can omit it in the options: Layout Options → Page Setup → Flows → Show flow headings. Be sure to apply the change to all the layouts required.
Thank you for the help. Using page layout helped.
