Please post a screenshot of your elicenser control center.
And are you aware of this below?
Yes. Thank you fo answer. What can i do?
EDIT: Wrong answer, see below.
You go to the support page from Steinberg. There you select “Downloads”. then you select “unsupported software” and “Cubase”.
This should get you here:
wasnt upgrade 10 - 10.5 a paid update? would that work when the elicsenser service is closed?
You’re right. In my mind everybody has a C11 license at least. My mistake.
@Gerasimov_Alexander : If you don’t have a license for C10.5 or C11 you can only try your luck on the second hand market.
If you really want 10.5 buy the upgrade now to 14 - the 40% off sale is about to end. My understanding is that you will be able to use all Cubase versions from 10.5 up to 14.
Can anyone confirm that?
EDIT!
I was apparently wrong.
If you own a Cubase license that relies on the old licensing system you will have acces to all previous versions that are below this version. E.g. if you own Cubase 11 and buy the update to 14 you can access anything below Cubase 14.
I am not sure though, if this is also the case for a Cubase 10 user who updates to C14 since the old license on their dongle will only include versions up to 10 and exclude version 10.5 and 11.
Excellent question @Googly_Smythe !
EDIT:
Thinking about it I guess it’s a matter of timing: if you bought an update to C12-14 before the shutdown of the eLicenser server your dongle was updated. After May 25th these dongles will remain as is and you will not be able to access versions that are not explicetly licensed on your dongle.
No, that’s not right. The license on the op elicenser is as high as his choices go. If his dongle shows a license for cb10, that’s the highest ver number. He can use 10,9,8,7.6.5.4.3 etc….but not,say 10.5 or 11 since those were paid upgrades at the time.
My elicenser says ver11, which was the final upgrade I bought for it back when 11 was released. After that, I bought 12 to 13 to 14 under the new system.
Buying ver 14 only gives one access to Cb 14,13,12….and of course via steinberg licensing. Cb 14,13,12 don’t even look for a dongle.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, too (see above). It’s a matter of timing since you can’t rewrite the licences “engraved” onto your dongle after the shutdown.
I didn’t buy Cubase 11 myself but I can use it anyways because I updated from Cubase 9.5 or 10 to 12 long before the eLicenser server was shut down. Hence my dongle was automatically updated back then.
In other words: The only way to access Cubase 10.5 is to buy a dongle that includes 10.5 or 11.
Given our assumptions are correct of course.
@Reco29 yeah that would make sense. Steinberg was very clear; you can use your dongle as is until it breaks. - then it is over.
