Hi, i keep getting this error message every 2 days. I have to restart my mac, and then it goes away and comes again in a day or two. It all started when i got Noteperformer 4’s trial and Dorico Elements. What is the issue here?
Thanks
If I remember, the NP demo times out after an hour of use; and I think this then has a knock-on effect on the audio engine.

You might not be waiting long enough to start up Dorico again after closing. The audio engine keeps running for a bit so Dorico can’t connect to it. I also have Elements and NP trial.
I can’t see anything obvious in the audio engine logs that would explain what’s going on here. Perhaps @Ulf will have a better idea than me.
In the meantime, when you encounter this problem, I suggest you run Activity Monitor and forcibly quit both Dorico and the VST Audio Engine processes, then wait a few seconds, and try to run Dorico again. That should get things back up and running again.
Hi @rajdholakia711 ,
I also can’t find something obvious in the log files.
For that reason, it would be nice if I could have a remote screen sharing session with you via Zoom or Teams/Skype or so.
If you consent, please send me a private message via this board and we can arrange for the details. Thanks
fwiw, I had similar behaviour at times when trying out NP playback engines or other time-limited libraries (in Kontakt for instance) so my guess would also be that that’s problem. But likely as not, you’ve solved it by now.
