I’ve got Halion 7 and Halion Sonic. I’ve tried double clicking on ‘Missing sound archive…’ but I don’t know which file it wants me to find, and it says there are 335 missing files.
You are missing some contents files, but I also don’t know which ones. First thing I would do is opening the Steinberg Download Assistant and there under My products make sure you have all the recommended contents packs installed, both, for HALion and HALion Sonic.
Thanks Ulf. I’ve got everything installed (except as shown).
Perhaps I need to do some uninstalling then reinstalling. Not sure how to remedy against lost settings, if I do.
I’m never sure if I need to install GASE, since I have GA 6. For that matter, I’m not sure if Halion 7 can completely replace Halion Sonic and its content.
Hi @Br0Haha , it’s a little bit complicated, so I’ll explain.
First of all, yes, you better also install GASE + contents as well as the Olympus Choir Micro.
Why also GASE? Because Dorico does not know about the full sized GA. So when Dorico is requested to add a drum player, it will try to load only GASE and the default drum kit.
In regards to HALion it is different, there Dorico knows of both and you can specify in the Dorico preferences which one to use. But Dorico will not know about the extended HALion contents and will only load HALion Sonic or HALion Sonic SE contents while applying a factory playback template. But of course you can later load sound patches from any of your installed libraries
