I’m trying to add special effects. An ai search said to add in play mode under VST instruments. All I see as a choice is Microsoft G’s wave table synth. I’m trying to add ts16wx
The first thing I’d confirm is that you have ts16wx installed. If so, and Dorico can’t see it, perhaps you only have the VST2 version.
Also, make sure you are adding a VST and not MIDI instrument:
Thanks. I did install VST3, but when I pull up VST instruments it doesn’t show up. It gives 2 choices, 02 HALion Sonic and 03 HALion sonic. I’m not seeing how to add anything.
Those aren’t choices, those are VSTs already loaded. You need to scroll down to the “+” button, click that and a drop-down will open with default entry of ‘————’. That dropdown will contain all the VSTs Dorico recognizes and yours should be in the list. If the list is long, you will need to scroll.
Mine doesn’t have a + button
Something was blocking the + button but now I see it. When I click it, on 06, it doesn’t show the option I’m looking for, and I can’t figure out how to scroll past the 3 choices.
You should be able to mouse scroll past the Steinberg entry but it looks like you have enough space. Like I asked earlier, is it actually installed as a VST3? Do you any other DAW-like app that you can test to see if it shows up there?
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to Create Diagnostic report from Help menu and attach it here.
Yes it’s says software sampler 3. No, it’s the only one I’ve tried so far. Good idea about diagnostic report. Thanks for all of your effort to help!
