I messed something up

Hello!

When I just started using Dorico I tried to get the instrument names right, and messed up something I can’t figure out how to undo atvthe time.

Somehow I created a new instrument “Trumpet in Bb 1” next to “Trumpet” and when I click “Trumpet”, the “B Flat” option is missing. See the two attached screenshots.

How can I fix this?

All the best, Roel

You probably changed the instrument name of a Trumpet in Bb and saved it as default - add a Trumpet in Bb to your project, open the Edit Instrument Names dialog and click Reset to Default.

It worked for the instruments that are currently in the score, but when I want to add a trumpet in bb I still have to select it from the “Trumpet in Bb 1”-thing. (Sorry, I’m not English, I don’t know how this “select-thing” is called.

Try going to /Users/your-username/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Dorico 3.5 and see if there is a file userlibrary.xml in there. If there is, try moving it out of the way, then restart Dorico and see if your trumpets now show up with the expected name by default.

YES!!!

Thanks for another incredible quick ánd very helpful response!
