I can’t seem to get my head around the licensing stuff. I have a new computer and I can no longer open Dorico.
Welcome to the forum.
What release of Dorico do you have? Is it Elements or is it a Pro release?
The version 3.5 used the old eLicenser technology, which is no longer used in Steinberg Products. In case you have the USB dongle for your license it is simply working by connecting the dongle to the new computer (after installing the eLicenser Control Center again).
However, if you have used the Soft-eLicenser, the licensing without dongle, it is not possible to reactivate it on a new computer. What you can do here is to buy the update to the current Dorico 6.
The details about the change in licensing systems is here.
I guess it’s Elements as I don’t have a dongle. So I should be able to upgrade without any problems?
Pro did not require the dongle either, thanks to what was called soft e-licenser. So you should make sure which version you had to pay the right fee
It could probably appear in your mysteinberg account.
