I`ve got a whole world of problems ( Solved )

1st, i have a problem with video playback in any VSTL 2 version. The video plays but freezes every second or so. see the videos the version is 2.0.28.
I have the same project loaded in version 1.4.8/1.4.9/1.4.63 and it works flawlessly, ( see videos ) i have tried the preloading, video multiprocessing on/off. I only have this video problem with V2.
2nd, I am getting random crashes at the startup with version 1.4.8/1.4.9 right up to 1.4.63 it sometimes load and then not, but when it loads it is working ok. ( see video )
I have some gigs coming up in the next couple of weeks and i am getting quite stressed about the issues that i am having. Just wondered if anyone else is experincing any iof these issues, if not has anyone got any suggestions please.

i am using a lenovo yoga 7 laptop with a Ryzen 7, 16GB ram, AMD Radeon 2GB dedicated Graphics and Windows 11.

Video 1 showing V2.0.28 video problem

another video showing the problem

Now the same project file in version 1.4.8

now a video showing the random crash at startup with version 1.4.8/1.4.9 etc…

Ok just an update, cpu load around 30%, memory around 40% disk usage minimal on playback.
Seems the problem is to do with VSTL 2.0 and my Laptop system, as VSTL 1.4.8/1.4.9 plays with no issues with the same computer.
My desktop also plays back the video with no issues on both VSTL & VSTL 2.
The only difference between the 2 computers is my desktop is an Intel i-core 5 based system and my laptop is a AMD Ryzen 7 based system. any help on this would be great thanks.

Hi @Fugiford,

Could you please check if crash logs were created? Please locate the following folder and look for “VST Live *.dmp” files.
Folder : C:\Users\Username\Documents\Steinberg\CrashDump

… please disable Multiprocessing. Is it better?
… and it sounds that only specific video files have those “freezes”. Correct? Can you give us these video files? Then we can analyse the problems.

See you,
Michael.

Thanks for your response, i will take a look at this and update you asap.

Ok, Michael i acted on your advice and disabled Multiprocessing and it did not make any difference anyway i discovered the problem, it was my i/o Soundcraft Ui24r sound settings if i altered the buffer setting from auto to say 2048 samples that caused the video on my laptop to freeze momentarally and if i moved it back to Auto setting which makes it 1152 samples then everthing is fine. So problem solved. Thanks for your continued efforts on this software it is getting more better and advanced with every release. by the way i never got chance to thank you sorting out the USB DMX issues its now working fantastic. :metal:
