Or any group for that matter. I find myself wanting to solo my drums group often. I move it around a lot to be adjacent to where I am working. I then go work somewhere else and want to do it again but I have go find it and move it again. is there a macro? a key command? PLE? my google searching makes it seem like it’s possible but all examples are referring to 10 year old versions of cubase, which is why I am here. thank you for the consideration. I am on N13 btw
That’s a great suggestion that makes full use of Nuendo’s capabilities.
My own solution for similar requirements (e.g. switching to reference mixes) is less elaborate, but it still does the trick: I simply move the respective channel to the upper section of the Edit Window (a.k.a. “Divided Track List”) which is always visible.
wow and thank you! those are two great solutions. I confess I never saw the Divide track list until this morning. regarding the PLE I got that to work but it has taken over my hot key for soloing in general “s” is there a way I can create a unique key to solo the drum group only? thank you so much again
What you mean by ‘taken over’?
It’s you who decides what key command you want to put on that PLE setup. Of course you’d have to save it as a preset first and then enter a key command for it in Key Commands. Handling this key command and the regular solo key command and how / if they interact in some way is AFAIK a simple choice and entirely up to you.
The PLE preset is offered as a simple solution to your request. In the screenshot it’s set up as a toggle command. FYI it doesn’t have to be. It can be set up as Enable Solo or Disable Solo instead.
If you were seeking something more elaborate please explain precisely what you are attempting to achieve, since it’s not clear in your previous post.
thank you stingray. what I meant by “taken over my hot key” is that the letter s is the key command for soloing a track if the track is selected. can I give this special drum group solo command a different key (like d) that way s still works for everything else. now that said, I’m not sure I have it set up properly anyway. I do have it set up exactly as your screen shot recommends (in name contains I have drum set). maybe do I need to make it a preset? thanks again
Yes, you’d have to save it as a preset. Once the preset has been saved, assign a key command by going to Edit>Key Commands - find the new preset you have just created and assign the key of your choice. See page 1701 of the operation manual for more details. Here’s a link to the manual: Steinberg
hey stingray. thank you for helping. I can see that this PLE is powerful stuff this is my first entry into it.
