Hi I’ve not been using my Nectar Impact midi control for more than it’s keyboard. Recently i’ve been adjusting the pre gain and volume of my tracks using the mouse but is there a way to assign faders to these globally for all tracks. I don’t want to have to set up track controls for every track. When I set up quick controls they only worked for one track. I was expecting the ‘focus’ to carry the behaviour to another track when I selected it but it doesn’t. I also could’nt get a grip of what the Focus QC Lock state button did in the remote mapping assistants functions browser. I’d be very grateful of your wisdom on all this. many thanks
I use cubase 13 pro on windows 11 pc with Nektar Impact LX49
On the remote mapping assistant’s function browser, choose from the functions under Selected Track.
Pre-Gain is Input Filter > Gain, Volume is just Volume.
So, for example, to enable you to balance pre-gain and volume on two tracks at a time:
Assign a button to toggle QC lock state.
Assign first fader to control QC parameter 1, which is mapped to pre-gain. Second fader to control QC parameter 2, which is mapped to volume. Third fader to control pre-gain on selected track. Fourth fader to control volume on selected track.
Push the button to lock the QC focus on the currently selected track.
Move to second track.
Use faders 1 & 2 to change pre-gain and volume on previous track. Faders 3 & 4 to change them on current track.
Then you can press the button to unlock the focus on the previous track, and again to lock it on currently selected track.
Move on to the next track.
You can save quick controls as a preset through a menu opened by right-clicking the Quick Controls section header. Then load them on another track/plug-in by the same method.
that’s very interesting. You seem an expert Paka! Can I ask about ‘soft pickup’. I can enable this in my midi keyboard itself using start/mute + Track to toggle a feature could Null. This gives a soft pickup for say a mapped fader operating (selected) track pre gain however if I go into Halion Sonic quick controls, the 8 rotary knobs on the same controller which are mapped to quick controls behave in a hard way. ie. the current halion setting jumps to match the controllers knob position, which I don’t like. I prefer the knob to pickup the halion control when I turn it. I can put this as a seperate question if you’d prefer
ah I see it, in the lower ‘mappings’ section of the mapping assistant. You have been a legend. thank you so much. I wonder if you have any thoughts on my previous topic. I never got to the cause of the problem and it wastes a lot of time re. VSTi midi.
