i5 2500K set-up

Hi there

So, anyone using this set-up? Pros and cons?
CPU: i5 2500K
Mobo: Gigabyte-ga-p67a-ud3-b3
RAM: 4Gb (2x2Gb) Corsair XM3 classic ddr3 pc3 12800 (1600 Mhz) CAS 9-9-9-24 1.5v

I need to upgrade my dads’ PC as the mobo has died, but I’m slightly unfamiliar with Sandy Bridge. I know the i7 2600K is super fast and all that but money really is a major issue.

He’s sticking with Cubase 5 on Vista 32bit for now and I can canabalise all the other bits (including 2 TI Firewire cards). He plays BFD2 a lot (on a rather nice Jobeky kit) and records various instruments through a Yamaha N12 (which acts as souncard).

All help really appreciated, open to suggestions on other boards etc. Basically anyone with an i5 2500k set-up!

Okay, ordered the i7 2600K instead as the general consensus seems to be you’d be mad not to (even though not gonna overclock)…

Oops, must point out that the Gigabyte-ga-p67a-ud3-b3 doesn’t take 1600 Mhz RAM, so finally ordered …
