Iconica sketch not visible in halion sonic 7

Iconica Sketch is downloaded and displayed in the Steinberg Library Manager but not visible in Halion Sonic 7

Hi, @rtessler

Do you have this, or at least something similar, when using HS7 with the right panel set in Browser mode ? If not, I would suggest a careful rescan of the whole VST Sounds location in MediaBay.

Additionaly, are you sure that Iconica Sketch library appears as installed in the Steinberg Download Assistant ?

Browser mode does not show Iconica Sketch.
I can see SMT_037_Iconica_Sketch_Presets.vstsound and SMT_038_Iconica_Sketch_Samples.vstsound have been copied to /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/Content/Groove Agent/VST Sound/ by the Steinberg Download Assistant.
I added folders to VST Plugin Manager but it did not make a difference.
What are the steps to rescan the VST Sounds in mediabay, what am I missing

The fact that you are using a MacOS based system won’t help, as I have a Windows based one, but still…

How on earth did the Iconica Sketch related files have been installed in Groove Agent subfolder ? This means that they are not even in the VST Sound location, from which probably the issue. Here, my Iconica Sketch files are located in :
C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\VST Sound
… the Groove Agent related files being installed outside of it, in :
C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\Content\Groove Agent.

I think that you are for a careful reinstallation of the whole library, as it obviously hasn’t been installed in the right place, starting by the use of the Remove button of the Iconica Sketch slot in the Steinberg Library manager.

EDIT - The VST Plug-in manager is not involved, as Iconica Sketch is a content library used as so in HAlion (Sonic) 7, not an independent VSTi by itself.

Yes, you were right. I moved iconica sketch file from groove agent to Halion sonic folder using the move button in Steinberg Library Manager and it showed up in media bay. Library default location was set to the groove agent folder in Steinberg Library Manager. Not sure why. It makes me wonder what folder files should go to: I see 4 folders under Content: Halion, Groove Agent, Padshop and VST Sound. VST Sound is a mixed bag of all sorts of .vstsound files. What files should go to what folders

I would have moved Ikonica Sketch related files in \Steinberg\Content\VST Sound instead as, from what I have seen until now, this folder is the one where all the ‘added’ libraries (the ones that can be installed independently of H(S)7 itself and its bundled content) are installed. And Iconica Sketch is one of them.

But, as long as you can use it like this, I reckon that all is good… :slightly_smiling_face:

its added there only but its not visible

there is no content location in my drive. *C:\ProgramData\Steinberg*

This location is hidden by default in Windows 10…

now what shall i do to open it. even in media page everything is there. the only thing is its not showing up in halion page

You have to tick, in the Windows Explorer, the Display > Hidden elements option (or something like that - french installation of Windows, here).

Sorry, but what is the ‘media page’ ?
