In Cubase/Halion Sonic I have selected violin in Iconica Sketch. The default setting is “Staccato”. When I now play via my midi keyboard (Akai LPK25), the dynamics are automatically adjusted to the strength of the keystrokes, and the symbols in the Halion window change accordingly between ppp and fff. This is also the case with pizz. and Spiccato. So far, so good.
But when I switch to sustain, legato, tremolo or sustain vibrato, I can only adjust the dynamics with the modulation wheel, no longer by changing the key pressure.
The described behavior is also found analogously with some other instruments (cello, contrabass…). Switching to another keyboard (NI Komplete Kontrol 25) does not help either.
Is it possible to set Cubase/Halion (or the keyboard) so that the dynamics are also applied to sustain, legato etc.?
