Iconica Sketch Trombones

I’m finding that there is a real problem with latency with some of the voices in Dorico. On playback the trombones can’t keep up because the ‘envelope’ opens too slowly for repeated quarter notes (as an example). Is there any way to edit these Iconica Sketch voices? Other than this latency issue I’m fairly satisfied with the voices. For my needs they’re as good as the old Garritan Jazz and Big Band Voices I used for years in Finale.
Thanks for any suggestions!

The main focus of Iconica Sketch is orchestra. The trombones sound nice in chords and full orchestra, but are more or less unusable for fast or jazzy types of music.

So what are my alternatives?

How about the default Halion that installs with Dorico?

Why wouldn’t you use your Garritan sounds? Dorico plays with any VST3, so if you find the player that makes yoir Garritan sounds play, it should be quite straightforward.

Where would I find instructions on how to get Dorico to recognize my Garritan voices? I’ve never had to do this before.

Thanks for your reply. Does this work in Windows?

Yes (I use Windows). But you do need the latest version of ARIA, which you get by installing Sforzando from Plogue. (It’s free)

@benwiggy has made a very good Dorico playback template for Garritan GPO 5 that I have used for several of my works.
