Currently, is there a way to identify which setlist is active?
I ask this because I’ve noticed that if I’m working with one setlist and then click on another without activating it, and then return to working on the active one, when I reopen the setlist tab, the non-active setlist is highlighted.
When you have many setlists and work on one for a long time, you end up forgetting which one is actually active.
It would be useful to have the name of the active setlist to the right of the setlist tab.
I am writing the steps to replicate, in case I wasn’t clear:
create 2 setlists (1 and 2)
activate setlist 1
in the setlist tab, click on setlist 2
return to working on the active setlist 1
open the setlist tab and notice that setlist 2 is highlighted
Exactly! But if you have very similar long setlists and follow the listed procedure, you’ll realize that it becomes almost impossible to understand which setlist is active. In fact, if you click on another setlist without activating it, the name at the top of the list on the right also changes.
Right, so you can select it, and edit and then activate. Or, if “Sync” is active, it will be the active setlist in any case and all changes are applied immediately.
Still not quite sure what you are missing. You want to highlight the active setlist in the middle column?
Open the setlist tab and notice that setlist 2 is highlighted
Let me give a practical example: I have very large and similar setlists. For instance, if I have setlist 1 active and open the setlist tab and click on setlist 2 without activating it, I see setlist 2 on the right section. Now, if I return to setlist 1 and continue working on it for a long time, and then go back to the setlist tab, I notice that setlist 2 is highlighted. The problem is that after a long time, you forget that you clicked on another setlist (in this case, setlist 2) and you are led to think that this is the setlist you are working on, but it is actually setlist 1. This happens because the current setlist name is not displayed in the project.
a) just activate Sync, and the right column will always show the active setlist
b) why else would you select a setlist w/o auto sync and then close the editor?
Even for b) if that is a problem, why not activate sync?
If you leave the editor to work on the active setlist on the main screen, you may just as well edit it in the setlist editor, with sync on. That is just the same as when you move things around on the main screen.
Please don’t get me wrong, don#t want to be defensive (or even offensive), but have been working on setlists a lot and that’s how it worked for me.
I went back to working on the project with setlist 1
I reopened the setlist tab and still see setlist 2
Additionally, based on what you told me, I retraced the previous steps up to point 4, then:
5.1 . I clicked on SYNC (to view the current setlist) and a window popped up saying that to sync, I need to activate setlist 2 first, so I exit and proceed with point 6
right column simply shows what’s selected in middle column
What do you want to do?
No, that does not sync the current setlist (which we call “playlist” to differentiate), it syncs actions in the right column to the playlist.
For that, it needs to be the actual playlist, you need to select that first.
