Just installed 5.3 on win 32 I have a ye old korg x3. I just want to be able to select my patches. So it just a matter of putting a valid .txt patch script in the C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 5\Scripts\patchnames directory?? what is the next step after that?? Do I import into a generic device?? Any advice is greatly welcome.
Put your scripts in Boot Drive/Users/Username/Appdata/Roaming/Steinberg/Cubase5/Scripts/Patchnames
Open Cubase
Goto menu Devices
Select Midi Device Manager
Click on “install device”
If a valid script is in this folder, you should see the script name in this dropdown. (The script name in the dropdown is the text after the [device name] line in the text file).
Create a track, assign the midi output to your device. The top half of the midi output dropdown has the names of outputs with scripts, the bottom half has non-scripted outputs [ie you’ll be offered plain Bank select and program change options]
yes thats it I had it in the program directory not the application directory
