Hi guys! What are the ways to write Dynamics, like f sf, mf sf, as a single unit? Currently this is not possible in Dorico “with ease”, right? Thanks
Welcome to the forum.
Select note, shift+D, type the dynamic needed then hit enter. E.g., for sf:
shift+d, sf, [enter]
I don’t know what you consider “with ease”, but you can add both mf and sf in Write mode and then in Engrave mode move one to follow immediately after the other, so they appear as a single unit. Not particularly difficult.
Thank for your reply, Nickie! This method I consider “not with ease”, because I have hundreds of these, so to move them in Engrave mode and than tweak the note spacing is very demanding. As you pointed out, they appear, as single unit, but they are not, like for ex.: poco F. etc. Cheers
Thanks for your reply! I’m aware of the popover, but if we write for ex. f sf, only sf will appear in the score.
You could use Playing Techniques. Combining the two glyphs.
Create them once, and save as Default.

Yes, Jesper, this is, what I do now. But since in the properties there is now text alignment options for Playing techniques, like for Dynamics, still I have to move them manually. At least this an option doo… Thanks
Yes, not ideal.
Jesper
I see. With hundreds it is indeed less than ideal.
