Please, I don’t want to type the lyrics in the notes. I don’t want to type syllable by syllable. That’s a delay. Can I bring the entire text into Dorico? Where do I put this text? And how do I then put the text in the notes?
Thank you to anyone who can help me.
Split first into syllables (AI is your friend) and then just copy it with cmd/ctrl+c and paste it into the lyrics note by note.
To do a whole line automatically is not possible, but I believe there is an AHK script posted in the forum to do just that.
Because Dorico assigns syllables (ultimately) to a position in the measure rather than to individual notes, adding a line at a time (even through a script) is not as convenient as it was in Finale, since moving syllables around afterwards does not work to move note-by-note the way Finale handled it.
Pasting a copied line syllable by syllable is suitably convenient and the best way to go in Dorico.
Yes. Prepare the hyphenated text in any text editor.
Copy it to the Clipboard.
Open the Lyric popover, and then just press Paste (Command V or CTRL V). Type hyphens or spaces for notes that have no syllables.
You saved me. The process became much faster. It’s strange to copy all the text and paste it in parts, but it worked very well.
Thank you so much.
