This is a great new feature and should save me a good amount of time and hunting through audio files. But I can’t find any information in the manual about the specific CSV formatting Wavelab wants to see. I found the section that talks about the dialog box, but I don’t see any info about exactly which fields in which order Wavelab is expecting.
You could export a marker CSV file from WaveLab, to see how it looks like.
I attach an example:
markers.xml (538 Bytes)
I exported a CSV from Wavelab, edited it, and tried to import in. I get the attached error, so I assume the time format is somehow off, but I didn’t change the formatting. I’ve attached the CSV, as well.
Thanks,
Brian
Why is this system not letting me upload anything other than an MP3 or image file? I tried to add the CSV but it was greyed-out and couldn’t be selected. Grr!
These are the first couple of lines:
Name,Position,Region Length,Type
01-McMichael-I,6 mn 5 s 148 ms,Region Start
,8 mn 45 s 137 ms,Region End
If you want to export markers in a text file, and then import it again in WaveLab, use the XML format and not the CSV format. The CSV import was done to import markers from other DAW. The XML format, on the other hand, is more complete and allows to get backs all details, such as marker types.
I don’t care about exporting, I just did that to get the format. Can you just give us the correct format for the CSV? Honestly, it’s much easier than dealing with XML for my purposes and I already created a big CSV list. I have 50+ of these things to enter so it gets real tedious.
Thanks,
Brian
Have to ask what is the correct CSV format try to understand the issue!?
Can you give an example where the CSV is correct in a DAW…
Thanks!

Simply generate an example CSV from WaveLab, but with the following setting. Indeed, this is the time format expected on import.
Then in the import dialog, choose:

If I generate this file done in WL 12.0.30
I can’t open this back in WL ?
Markers List test.csv.zip (661 Bytes)

3 s 2 ms | Generic | |||
4 s 2 ms | Generic |

I’m missing something. I can no longer see how to export a CSV file from Wavelab. Please remind me, where is the specific function for that?
Read again my previous post.
Got it! Thanks.
I have and is using Timecode…
Sorry I got this wrong now it’s working…
I had Timecode showing in Upper Pane in Audio File
not in the Lower Pane
Sorry

Getting back to this and got it working with the help of this thread– thanks! One issue: The marker types WL created didn’t match the CSV; I asked for Region Start/End and they all came through as Cue (Generic), even though the dialog box was set to Regions. I’ve attached the file.
Markers.csv.zip (1013 Bytes)
The start and and end position should be on the same line.
As an example, here a small example:
reaper_regions.zip (230 Bytes)
