I haven’t imported a PT project in a while, none with C15, and I have one coming to me shortly. I know there are several overdubs, and numerous tracks. I understand that the other end has to export in a specific format that will lose the mix, FX, busses, etc. What am I getting myself into here??
I remember the last import was just audio tracks, and no alignment for the overdubs. And there were a lot of them, and no labels for the tracks So quite a bit of time was spent aligning them into their proper place…
Any audio tracks should be rendered audio files that span from start to finish of the project. You would then import the audio files onto different tracks, alignment would be easy as they all start at the same moment.
Midi should be exported as a standard midi file.
Depending on program editions/versions, you could try AAF export from PT and import into Cubase.
Thanks - that’s what messed me up - they did not export end to end and didn’t tell me which overdubs were keepers.. It’s been a while so thanks for the reminder. And I’ll ask about AAF export, too..
