I use my own SVG created images for Body Percussion noteheads. These noteheads replace common noteheads. The stem lengths would be zero. Typically these would be on a single line percussion stave. I create my SVG file in the app Linearity Curve ( Mac Pro computer M1) and save the file with all save options selected ( include background, outline text, responsive, keep Linearity Cure attributes). The file is 15KB. Attached is a screenshot of the Graphic upload and displayed in Preview on the Edit Notehead Window/Graphic. When Add Graphic is clicked the image does not load to the graph window. Prior to loading the graphic I trashed the black notehead. When the Add Graphic was clicked the Offset and Scale x,y settings flashed but that was all. SVG has some specific standards, have I met them for Dorico? Notice I did create a new notehead set “Body Percussion Notepads.” What else might I have misunderstood or could manage differently? I used to manage this in Finale just fine, but do not know how to do this yet in Dorico. My work goes into rehearsal in 2 months so I have some time to get this sorted. Your help is appreciated. This discussion upload will not recognize SVG files for upload, otherwise I would include that file.
Nice, you can zip the SVG before uploading.

The note editor/graphics/upload failed to recognize a zip file. Any further suggestion welcome. See upload, boxed are files that can be read, arrow is greyed out file that can’t be read. I zipped the file using my Mac finder, I would not think that would be the issue. Thanks.
I answered my question. Zip file was not necessary. The SVG export from Linearity Curve was evidently rendered in the Edit Notehead Sets/Edit Notehead/Graphic at the original size it was created at in Linearity Curve. When it imported in Dorico the uploaded substitute notehead appeared to be missing, however the zoom was all the way up and one could not find the notehead, i.e. I was viewing the SVG file but viewing the empty space on the edge my upload and far away from the actual graphic. Zoom way out and it was there. For the next upload I will more carefully manage the pixel exterior dimensions of the SVG file I create and then uploaded file. Also, take note that you have to use the properties window, custom scale to manage the in score size of your graphic. I will have work with the SVG file dimensions for the graphic to create an efficient workflow, i.e. import at the required score size., because I will have about 8 different graphic icons to use as body percussion “notes” and I want to avoid having to scale each graphic in the properties window. I hope this is helpful for folks working with SVG imports.
P.S. Because Dorico will space the standard notation in the score to its specs, imported notehead graphics as SVG files need to be carefully evaluated to determine how much space they require in the score. This means that graphics that are larger than quarter notes but need a lot more space than a quarter note will force the score to spread out, very possibly much more that is acceptable. So, consider using halfnote or larger values as substitutes, if the rhythmic structure of part will allow it.
