Imported XML, small ties not tied to any notes and cannot remove

I imported an XML (.mxl) file from Sibelius. In the converted Dorico file, I am getting these small ties attached to some notes that were slurred in the Sibelius file. I have tried the cut tool (U as well as Alt-U). If I press T to create a tie on that note, the little tie turns into a long/standard tie that wants to tie to the next note of the same pitch. Undoing the tie (U) removes the long tie and turns it back into the small tie. See the little tie on the F# (this is treble clef).

How can I get rid of these annoying little ties? There are many of them throughout the piece…

Thanks in advance for any guidance

Those are l.v. ties, they’re a property of the note. Select the note, open the properties panel (bottom one), uncheck l.v. ties property and solved :wink:

Welcome to the forum!

They are laissez vibrer ties. Select all and switch off Laissez Vibrer tie in the properties panel.

@MarcLarcher was quicker :slightly_smiling_face:

Welcome to the forum, @hbkruger!

That’s called a “laissez vibrer” or “let ring” tie. If you select the note and open the bottom properties panel……oh look, @MarcLarcher beat me to it!
