Importing drum settings into a new project

I set up a project with the track names for Roland VAD drums - kick, snare…crack cymbal. ( 10 audio tracks and midi track). Each has the name and bus assignments.
I would like to use this setup to import into other existing songs, rather than have to add each of the 11 tracks, all set individually. And then be able to record to this. Is it possible? In another post I asked, but was told how to import the tracks from another project, but I didn’t want what was recorded on those tracks, and importing them did not preserve any of the bussing, which is what I want. I am just going to delete anything already recorded on them, as I just want to import a setup ready to record without having to make 11 assignments.

Hi,

You can either make a project template or import the tracks from an existing project (this feature was not possible in Cubase 8.5).

Hi, I have most of my multichannel vst instruments set up in track archives which include the instrument, instrument tracks, midi tracks, routings, effects, group track, coloring, naming etc all contained in a folder. Works well.

I exported the tracks and then imported into a song, and it looked like everything was right. But while the tracks would play what had been recorded on them, showing the outputs were OK, there was no ability to record or set the monitor on any but the midi tracks. those were grayed out. I individually set each to output to the drum group that previously recorded drums were sent to. I then tried to figure out the inputs and it is confusing. I had a lot of mono inputs from the earlier recording and started to add stereo ones as that is what the archive is, and the intent was to erase those tracks and be able to record on them. but when I assigned kick for the kick, I still had no record/monitor capability. I don’t know how to proceed.

Solved it.
