Importing flows to a template vs. importing template sets and settings

Please help me decide which workflow is better for Publishing Projects? At least for my first Dorico Project?

I’m currently learning Dorico (I used Finale for years) and tackling my first publishing project. I started by copying notes and text from a manuscript. Then, when I felt I know Dorico a bit, I focused on creating detailed template. This template include page layouts, paragraph and font styles, and my preferred settings for notation and engraving. Now, I have two files:

  • My “work file” containing all the music and text. (about ten flows, few pages each)
  • A separate “template file” set up with layout and engraving settings.

The challenge for me is to combine these files seamlessly. I’m trying to decide between these workflows:

  1. Import Flows from Work File to Template.
  2. Import Page Template Sets and Settings into Work File via Library Manager.

Is there one best/easiest/fastest way of doing it?

I would go with option 1 if you have a template that satisfies you.
