So most synths have built in patch libraries. Is there a way to batch export a synths patch list into the Cubase library?
Hi,
If the plug-in vendors wants to, there is a way, how to do it in the VST3 standard. For the plug-in developer it’s easy.
For the user, no way.
It requires manual transfer work.
@m.c et al has done this work for some of the VSTis. There was also a topic for this somewhere.
Sure thing.
Just to be clear, are you referring to hardware synths, or VST instruments?
VST yes.
Well, this is not a simple operation unfortunately. Like @Martin.Jirsak said it would be almost trivial for the manufacturer, not for the end user. There have been attempts, I did something on this path as @Johnny_Moneto mentioned, but nothing universal. The closest I got was to convert NKSf (NI’s similar format to vstPreset one) to vstPresets. It worked for lots of my VSTs, I’ve missed one or two. Do you have any specific VSTs in mind?
No specifics really. I guess it would be nice to have a centralized patch library but it doesn’t seem like something I’d put the time into.
