Importing MIDI Changes Drum Sound

Hey All!

I’ve encountered a really weird problem that I can’t seem to fix myself, and google/forum searching hasn’t yielded any results.

I’ve made a quick little drum part written out in notation software (Guitar Pro 7 to be exact) and I wanted to export that MIDI and put it onto a Drum VST in Cubase to have nicer Samples and finetune the sound and playing of it.
However, when I drag and drop the MIDI file I’ve exported out of GP7, or import it using the import function, it completely changes the sound of the drum library I’m using.
I’m attempting to use CinePerc’s Drum kit, and the second I drag the MIDI over onto the Drum track, it changes the sound from CinePerc’s drumkit into a really crusty 1990 CASIO Keyboard drum sound, and its suuuuuuper quiet.

I can’t, for the absolute life of me, figure out why this is.
The imported MIDI is like an infection. Even if I duplicate it and change the notes around, the second it touches a track’s lane it changes the sound of the track to the CASIO keyboard sound.

Any help?
Thanks!

It may be a MIDI PC code sending the changes. It can be deleted in the MIDI List Editor

In the Menu Bar: MIDI->Open List Editor

Hope that helps.
