#feature-request: When importing MusicXML, allow for multiple MusicXML files to be imported into the same flow, or to specifically designate which flow they should be imported to. The improved import option would allow MusicXML files to be concatenated onto an existing flow, OR if the MusicXML has the same time signatures and overall length, import the MusicXML as New Player or New Section. My request is based on a situation I recently encountered where I did not have the full score for a Piano Duet, only 2 MusicXML files: one for Piano 1 and the other for Piano 2. I could not easily recreate the full score for the Piano Duet since Piano 2 was brought into Dorico as a new flow.

I suspect that one reason this isn’t possible is the same reason that it’s not currently possible to combine two flows – there are too many possible complications with different players/instruments.
But what you can do is import the two XML files into separate flows. Then add a second piano player to the first flow, and copy and paste the music from the second flow into the second piano in the first flow. (And then delete the second flow.)

It would take less than a minute to add a new piano player to the score (if needed) and copy the piano2 material from flow 2 to flow 1.
