Hi, I cant swap pages, some pages which are not overridden. I have tried to delete frame and system breakes, and “wait for the next frame and system breakes” in engrave properties, but it still stays greyed. However I can swap other pages in the same project . Any idea? …
What exactly are you trying to swap? If the layouts of those pages are the same there is nothing to swap.
I want move the page 45 to previous one so it becomes page 44
If you want to change the physical order of the notes (eg. Move these 8 bars of music before those notes) you would do that in Write mode with a cut/paste and one of the insert modes (depending on exactly what you want)
I need to move back and front multiple entire pages. Not only notes. There are arrows for that (see the screenshot) and they are not responding.
I don’t think the swap button works the way you think it does. According to the online help the result of page swaps is: “All page format changes on the selected pages are moved to the previous or next pages within the sequence of pages in the layout.” I think only page formatting is swapped, not the actual page contents. If by chance the pages are different flows, you can change the order of the flows (and effectively the page order) in the setup menu.
Yes: Engrave mode controls how the music is displayed; Write mode controls what the music is.
So you can’t move music in Engrave mode. The Swap function is only to move page formatting and layout.
If you want to move one section of music to earlier in the piece, then that’s done in Write mode, independently of what it looks like.
I know the division and distinction seems like an obstacle, but it actually provides much greater flexibility and functionality, allowing things like multiple different layouts of the same music.
Perhaps the answer is to split the pages into small flows and swap them that way or to print the music as a PDF and swap the pages that way, both of which had drawbacks. It is hard to tell which of the earlier (less drastic) suggestions would serve without seeing the actual contents of the pages in question.
