I’d love to see some improvements in how you can edit these data fields with just your keyboard to avoid clicking too much with my mouse.
This would help making Cubase/Nuendo workflow more economic and faster/efficient.
For example, I am using the marker window most of the time to edit my cycle marker of takes and sounds for later export. It helps a lot using the ENTER key to write text into the description column. There are a few difficulties however:
- When you are in one field and press DOWN, it does not go into the field below. Instead you have to press ENTER again to exit, press DOWN and ENTER again to enter editing of the field below. This could be more efficient and smoother. Maybe even without a double-click but if you click on the text, it already places the cursor.
- I’ve noticed that in the left zone, we also have the Inspector tab. This does almost the same thing as the Marker window. You can edit the description of a marker as well. However, navigating with the Keyboard here is impossible. It just loses focus once you are done editing one field. This should behave identical to the Marker window?
- I love how when you select multiple rows and enter a description, you can change the text of multiple descriptions at once. This could be even better by noticing if you are using a running number, like this: “my section 01” and then if multiple fields are selected, it could just increase that number (maybe as a selectable option under the “Settings” dropdown
- Quickly create markers as a batch. How about making it possible to enter a list into a field and every line break is indicating a new marker? I often find myself having to copy/paste the chapter lists of my director and then converting them into a CSV marker file (using ChatGPT) - maybe this could be something that can be included as a tool inside the marker window as well!
Thanks for reading!
