The default note spacing in Galley View looks very cramped and I can’t seem to find any option that makes the bars wider without also affecting my actual sheet music in Page View (which is set to default note spacing). What would be the intended method to do this? I don’t need it to look nice, I just want it to breathe a bit so i can see better what I am doing.

I don’t believe there is a way to set a different horizontal spacing in Galley view.
You could always change the note spacing to something wider while you’re doing note input and editing, and then change it back when you get to the layout phase.
