Increasing audio output in Cubase 13 Pro

So, I’ve got a strange issue.
For some reason, my cubase output is quiet inside my headphones. I have to use control room to make it any louder, however, it causes it to redline way faster.
Is there a way I can turn up the audio output to my headphones without turning up the mixer master/control room?
For reference, I am using Audeze Maxwell’s and their output is maxed out too.

Hello,

you already mentioned the usage of Control Room. That is exactly the way to make the signal louder only on the headphones but not in the mix itself.

right.
Using control room makes the audio output louder, yes, but it redlines within control room and causes peaking without the audio actually being loud in my headphones

That sounds like it’s in your audio interface.

Then the issue lies outside of Cubase.
It could be that the software for your audio interface has set the headphones channel to a low level or maybe you have a hardware knob for adjusting the volume.
Have you checked your headphones if they are generally in good order? Are they loud enough with other audio software?

Yep. They’re plenty loud everywhere else. It’s only when I use cubase that I have this issue

What do you have your headphones plugged into when you’re listening to Cubase output?

Im using ASIO4ALLv2 because it allows me to have a mic in
however when trying other ASIO’s, the issue still persists.
The headphones are wireless, so theyre plugged in via USB C

The ASIO audio is separate from the PC’s system audio & they can have different settings. Most likely Cubase is the only thing using the ASIO audio while everything else is using the system audio.

EDIT

Check your system’s audio settings. Often they will have some signal processing like EQ and compression to help “improve” the sound.

Are you using C13 or C14?
If you’re using the control room, are you listening to the Phones channel or the main output,
and
Have you activated the ‘listen’-button and tried to increase the listen level at the bottom of the control room?

A lot of questions!
The easiest way
is to disable the control room and set an output channel setup for main output in the ‘connection window’ (studio menu), then you can use the main output fader in the mixer for your speakers and your headphone volum at your audio interface independently.

Ther hard way
is to read the manual about the control room, channels , phones, listen button and the lot. A lot of work, but will pay off in the long run.

Hey!
I’m using C13.
In CR I’m using monitors as the output.
Issue with using the main output on the mixer is ti causes everything to redline and peak sooner and quicker when it shouldnt be doing either.
Since I’m not using an audio interface, theres no way for me to turn that volume up or down, although I would if I could.

I turned all those processes and stuff off long long ago.
I can try a different ASIO but theyve all had the same processes and most add more latency into the equation
