Hi folks, I’m currently writing a chamber piece, which is in 3/8 at the moment, and I have decided it will look nicer and read easer in 3/4. I’ve already written a decent chunk and I don’t want to have to rewrite it in the new meter.
Is there any way I can increase all the notes to 3/4 proportions? (i.e. eighth note into quarter, quarter into half, etc)
Thanks in advance!

Hi @ERC_Music, if you don’t have tuplets it will be very straightforward:
- (duplicate the flow, to experiment with the following steps without loosing the original version)
- change the Meter from 3/8 into 3/4 (just double clicking on it, etc…)
- select all the notes
- activate Insert Mode
- choose menu Write>Edit Duration>Double Note Duration
- deactivate insert mode!
- (unfortunately dynamics and slurs will not be affected by the Double Note Duration command, since they are not attached to the notes but to rhythmic positions)
If you have tuplets it is a little more complex… (you would need to delete your tuplets and recreate them later, after the doubling of the values).
If you can upload your Projects, I am sure someone will give advice for the strategy to follow.
