Greetings
I’m finding that hairpins that were entered on multiple staves can’t be positioned independently, even in Engrave mode. I have a really tight page, and am doing everything I can to make everything fit - is there a way to make it so when I move one vertically, it doesn’t move the others?
Select the hairpins, right-click, and choose Dynamics > Unlink.
There are times when the linking behavior can be useful, but you can change whether Dorico links by default in Edit > Preferences > Note Input and Editing > Editing > Link dynamics and slurs to existing items when pasting
Thanks so much!
Having the same issue as Daniel, your solution “default” works fine as long as you’ve unchecked “Link Dynamics and Slurs to Existing Items when Pasting” before inputting hairpins. Unfortunately, I’ll have to manually adjust the many hairpins I’ve already inputted, but at least I now know how to do that. Thanks (Btw, the mapping sequence starts in the Dorico menu, not the Edit menu.)
Sure – this is the default action that Dorico will use during input, not the current state of existing items. If you want to unlink all current dynamics, you can do Select All, then Filter to Select Only All Dynamics, then unlink.
