Hi @Yavor_Kresic, there is a Palm Mute Playing technique in the Guitar section on the PT right panel:
Playback example:
It uses the Palm muting Playback technique. You can customise the Palm Mute Playing technique (using a glyph instead of text for example):
The used Palm muting Playback technique is a “Direction” one, so it will be applied until end of flow, if you don’t give it a duration (with the shortcut Shift+Option(Alt)+right arrow). You can also activate the line continuation in the Properties panel to show the player its length.
thanks. i knew about the palm mute. i don’t need playback. What I need is some way to visually indicate that the chord is to be muted on the 2 beat. I did see the x under notehead but couldn’t get it to work for a slash
If you don’t need playback, then you can assign the notes to a normal voice (non slashed), and change the noteheads to Oversized Slash Noteheads, and then, for the muted notes, to an x or some other notehead type (Ornate X Notehead):

Ok. Thanks. I was able to do it as you had suggested [i.e. notation] with one issue. I had selected the bar that I wanted to change [orange highlight of the bar in question]. The whole piece was converted to notation though. What do i need to do in order to have the conversion affect the one bar [bar 11]? I attached what it looks like with bar 11 only highlighted and executing the convert rhythmic slashes to notation results. Also the edits to bar 11

Hi @Yavor_Kresic, to change those slashes to normal voice, choose this:
Edit: see the more complete steps suggested by @asherber here below.
Your document currently has all notes in downstem voice 1, which is a slash voice. That means that all notes in that voice will have slashes for noteheads.
If you just want to make this change to one group of eighth notes (i.e., slash, x, slash, slash), You need to move those notes into a different (normal) voice, and then change the noteheads. Here are the steps.

That worked. Thanks asherber and Christian. I used the Large X and Diamond Noteheads in the end.
After getting that all straightened out, I am trying to do a slur on the +
Living on the Edges with slur attempt on + of 2.dorico (900.9 KB)
of the 2 beat but it won’t work. All of the other slash notes in the bar allows me to use the slur though
@Yavor_Kresic
Just set the second half of the bar to the same voice as the first half:
click on the beam and press V to do this
then change the noteheads for that second half of the bar
now you are able to write a slur (since you have the same voice)
Living on the Edges with slur attempt on + of 2-CORRECTED.dorico (1.7 MB)

Makes sense. worked. Thanks for all your help
In addition to @Christian_R’s solution, you can also select the first note and Ctrl/Cmd+click the second note, and then slur them as usual. This works without needing to change the second half of the bar.
Thanks
