Individual graphic on title page

Hello,

I am trying to create my first title page for an orchestral score but am not sure if I am on the right track for one thing (graphic) or if there is a better way to accomplish it. I followed this tutorial, always enjoying how John is presenting.

My score has A3 size, the players are A4.
In contrast to the video, I would like to have an individual graphic per project. So in the score page template I added just a graphics frame without any image and resized it down on the players‘ template title page.

I was able to overrate the score title page and insert the graphic for this piece. The score looks fine to me. Now when I come to the players‘ template title page, I am able to overwrite it for each player. Is this the way to go forward or is there a better way to add the graphic only once to a template and have it available to all players‘ title page?

Another thing I experienced was that the token for {@layoutname@} did not work on the players‘ title page. It is working on the first page though in the left top corner. Any idea on this? Or will I have to overwrite the title page as well with the layout name (player name)?

@RaPaSa

with overrate and overwrite you intend override? Don’t make overrides: just edit the page template. You have one page template set for full score and one for parts. You edit once the two templates (in your case the First page templates for full score and Parts), and you need it to do only once.

-for the full score:

-for the parts (same procedure):

Yes, override… :wink: So when I do it as suggested I would be able then on the next project when creating from project template to just exchange the graphics once on the score layout and I should be fine? Did not think it would be that easy.

you have to exchange the graphic twice for new projects:

  1. in the Full Score -First page template
  2. and in the Part -First page template .:

they are separate and independent.
you can also switch between the two sets Score and Part clicking on the triangle…:

(as in the 2 examples that I attached above)

welcome to Dorico :slight_smile:
