Very frustrating. While recording vocals into Cubase 8 Pro, the levels distort awful, however, during playback levels are perfect. Not sure where to go from here or where to check. I tried project settings and can’t seem to find nothing wrong. Is the problem in the UR interface? Help!

the most important is, the recorded signal is OK. 
It seems, your routing is wrong. Probably you are hearing the signal directly from the soundcard, and also thru the Cubase. So you hear the signal twice (I guess). Could you describe your connection, and settings, please (maybe some screenshots would help)?
