i am stuck…
i need a bar with only rests in it.
Let’s take a 4/4 bar: i need 1quarter 2eights and a half rest.
I can’t do it…? Playing around with the rest symbol i always get half note rests in 4/4 and quarter note rests in 3/4 no matter what note i hit…
What’s wrong?

Can you verify, that this only works for 5lined pitched instruments?
I cannot put any individual rests with this technique in any of my percussion single-liners?
… i also can’t enter individual rests in any unpitched instrument, no matter how many stafflines.

The only thing that works for me so far is:
write all rests i need in a different (pitched instruments) system and then copy them over…
I have a feeling that’s the only way, and I’m not entirely sure that it’s reliable.
So you can reproduce this whole issue…

It’s not a bug, it’s a very well known limitation. Percussion staffs are a reduction of various individual one-Line staffs. As yet, there are various things you can’t do with them, like forcing rests. You also can’t filter in quite the same way you can elsewhere, etc.
