After updating Halion Sonic to 7.5, my download assistant is telling me to Install Missing VST Sounds to the tune of 26.53 GB. This has happened before. Is this a bug in SDA?

I was also prompted for this today (9 GB in my case). I’ll skip installing this until there’s some clarification from Steinberg what this actually is.

It seems the size of the “missing” VST Sounds varies according to what you have? Mine is 10.54 GB. I did take a look at my stuff in the Library Manager and that’s only a bit larger than the installation of sounds I have for Halion Sonic. [image] [image]

It was @Nico5 who suggested that the Content for HALion 7 may be updated patches to support MPE, which makes sense. Yes, it is unfortunate that it requires such a a massive download. In my case it looked for over 30GB, not 14GB, we were not ghosting you @Puli :laughing:

Sure, these downloads are huge, and yes, it would be nice to know officially from Steinberg why they are required, but unless someone is on a metered internet connection and paying by the megabyte, I’m not sure what the problem is here … do people not trust the Steinberg Download Manager to know wha…

I think I’ve have multiple of those “VST Sounds” updates which don’t add anything new over the course of a week, but this is the first one which claims to be an install for “Missing Sounds.” And none of them have any release notes. Only the software does.
