Install Missing VST Sounds?

I opened up the steinberg download assistant to upgrade Dorico, and I noticed that there is an entry called Install MIssing VST Sounds, too. I have not seen this before today. What sounds is this referring to? Is this something new?

Also, groove agent was upgraded too, along with the factory content (which I did).

Hi, I just got a confirmation that you should not install that stuff. The thing is, it’s a bug in the SDA or somewhere and Dorico users shall not install those 18 GB worth of sound files. We are working on a fix and then Dorico users won’t see it any more. Sorry for the confusion

This should now be resolved: Fixed Steinberg Download Manager issue - #2

If you close and reopen Steinberg Download Assistant, it will update the library manager which contains the fix.

If I’ve already downloaded the 18Gb is there a default location for the stored files that I should delete in order to reclaim the disc space (Mac, Tahoe)?

They will have downloaded to the Downloads/Steinberg folder of your account. If you find that folder is empty, then you might need to open the Steinberg Library Manager application and delete anything which you don’t want (e.g. Anima, Eagle, Skylab, Studio Strings, Hot Brass etc.)
