Hello, I installed the free version of cubase 12 pro on my laptop and got very intrested. So I ran to the shop to buy the Steinberg production starter kit.
The shop told me it came with cubase 12 artist but when I managed my licence I saw it was the 10.5 version. When licened my product Steinberg gave me also a licence for upgrading to cubase artist 11.
Here is my problem: In the download manager the instalation of my product keeps failing.
I tried many times but it won’t work. Cubase gives no information about the error.
What can be the problem? Do I need do deinstalate the trial of cubase 12 pro first?
Can it be the slow internetconnection I have? I see a very low downloadspeed when downloading.
I am an absolute beginner so I really don’t know what to do

What kind of shop was it? Was it Steinberg’s online shop or any other shop? Which product exactly did you buy, please?
At this moment, you cannot buy a Cubase 10.5 license. Only the latest is always available, which is Cubase 12 at this very moment. So it would be interesting to know, what did you buy.
If you bought Cubase Pro 12, you don’t have to do this at all. Cubase Pro 12 and Cubase Artist 12 is the very same executable file. You don’t have to uninstall it even in other cases. Cubase Pro 12 installation cannot interfere with other Cubase installation(s).
From the screenshot, it seems the installation hasn’t started yet. The problem is on the download already. Make sure you have enough free space on your hard drive and you have permission to write to the given folder, please.
The instalation problem is solved. My wifi conection had problems. I conected my computer with cable to my modem and all downloads come in very easy now.
To answer the questions of Martin.Jirsac: I bouht the Steinberg studio starter kit.
Its not not for sale anymore at Steinbergs shop but some music stores in the Netherlands still have some kits. The package includes an audio interface (Steinberg UR22C), a condensed microphone (Steinberg ST-MO1), a keyboard( Nectar inpact LX 25+) and a usb key and downloadaccesnumber for cubase artist. 10.5.
To be honest, it felt not like a music store where they have much nowledge of their products. They just sell.
However, I just finished instalation and opened en registered my product. I already updated to cubase artist 11 now so that licence was included. For now I’m very happy with my starters kit!
I have only one question left and I think its a dumb question but witch extensions do I need to download extra after installing the full program? Like groove agent and stuff like that? Now I downloaded all I could get but that is way too much I see. My 250 G harddisk is almost full! Im an enthousiast dummie

If this was the very 1st activation of the license, you are allowed to update to Cubase Artist 12 for free. Install Steinberg Activation Manager and follow the Grace Period steps, please.
