installing cubase 6 issues

Hello-- I recently installed Cubase 6 on Windows Vista sp2 and found that it did not register icons on Control Panel/Sound window. Unable to use the product and can’t seem to find a fix.

Cubase 6 is not supported on Windows Vista anyway - System requirement is Windows 7.
