Intalled Dorico Pro 5 and Finale files do not have playback

I have installed Dorico Pro 5 crossgrade and now playback doesn’t work with my Finale files. The cursor starts at the beginning of the first measure and doesn’t budge.
Please, please help with this.
PS I’m using Windows 11 and Finale version 27.

OK…here’s an update: when I tried Playback again, I got a message saying “One or more MIDI devices not responding” and the program freezes.

Also, as Dorico was downloading I got notifications in the lower right of the screen saying "Items removed from Iconica Sketch on your computer have also been removed from Iconica Sketch on Google Drive. Items in trash will be deleted after 30 days. " This message appeared with each of the downloads. Don’t know if this message is worrisome.

Did you get an answer to this question? I’m encountering the same issue.

Thanks.

Sorry, this thread somehow slipped through.

When you go to Play mode and there open the HALion Sonic editor window by pressing that little stylized e-button, does it show sound patches loaded appropriately into the 16 slots?

What if you create a new project from piano template, enter some arbitrary notes and play them back, is there also no sound?

I don’t think we’re on the same page. I’m getting playback. I’m simply looking for an alternative sound.

Well, same thing, open the HALion Sonic editor window and load any sound you like into the slots.
Or do you want to use a different VSTinstrument plug-in like e.g. NotePerformer or Kontakt?
Sure you can use those as well in Dorico.

This thread was started by someone who installed Dorico and then lost playback in Finale.

@willforrestercorbin I think you have a different thread asking about different playback options in Dorico. This is all a little easier to keep straight if you read the forum online rather than via email.
