Interface Ipad With Mac in Cubasis 2

Hi again I just bought Cubasis 2 all I would like to do is record whatever audio is coming from my laptop in Cubasis.
Obviously I I don’t want to do it with the mics and speakers but digitally via usb cable. Is that possible or I need an interface?
If so which one should I buy besides Focusrite?

To record external signals with Cubasis, a class compliant compatible audio interface is required.
