There’s been some inconstant drop outs and audio issues, this week we used VST Live together with VST Live Mods (1.5.3.170) played for about 1.5h with no problems then I closed the iOS app and for some reason 1 vocal channel stopped sending audio, the backing tracks had no audio but one bass channel did send audio. Reopen the iOS app and it displayed something similar “the version is not compatible” which is weird since I just used it for about an hour already. Resetting audio and restarting VST Live didn’t solve it. No vocal audio nor backing tracks, only the bass audio.
The bass track and vocal track are inputs, used in the global stack.
I find it difficult to understand what to do in the situation, when resetting and restarting doesn’t seem the help. Just to add an additional issue, and probably not the same issue as above but the week before the audio from all inputs was distorting, like everything was maxed out. Opened the session at home and used the Macs Mic and the same issue. Upgraded to 3.0.50, and still the same issue where the audio distorted. However, next rehearsal, it was fine. Which makes me believe it actually required a restart of the computer and not only VST Live, and audio reset. Just to clarify, using audio in Logic Pro worked just fine but was distorting in VST Live.
Is there any why to help fix or troubleshoot this inconsistency in audio dropouts?
May I encourage you to install the newest build from only yesterday (VL 3.0.56)? You find it here.
You can have 3.0.50 and 3.0.56 installed on the same machine. The only thing needed is to rename your existing install to something meaningful like “VST Live Old” (or whatever you prefer).
Please check with the newest build if your issues are still present.
Is there a way to clear/delete all connections? Like a factory reset but keep the stacks and tracks. For 2 months ago I created a new project in same project folder of another project and the connections was conflicted, starting to suspect there could be something with the connection settings and would like to just start from scratch. Or are they just part of the proj file?
@Eternicus, please check this out and use the version that won’t damage your project. The best for now is 3.0.54. Follow the news, there will be an update.
Connections are saved with the project, but also locally; when you exit VST Live, they are saved so that when you open VST Live again, they will be restored. When you load a project, it overwrites current Connections.
Each port connection remembers up to 32 devices/hardware ports. If a port can be found, it should automatically connect, once set and saved. So when you carry your project around, and have ever saved connections in one place, the next time you come back (after haveing worked with another setup), it should automatically find your last used local connection in that project.
You can remove all stored connections of a port by ctrl/clicking a port association, it will then ask you if you want to clear that port.
