Would be great if a Cycle track existed that could create a temporary - or as per use case - loop inside the main Cycle.
I find myself needing to zone in on a shorter cycle within the main cycle frequently. It is then kind of annoying to always have to draw the main cycle again after each time doing that.
Not interested in ‘independent track loop’ because I am talking about working within the main project window.
An alternative that could solve this is a new command: ‘Store Cycle points’ and ‘Restore stored Cycle points’ - a la Reaper.
Maybe you could use a marker track, where you place cycle markers to “store” different cycle points.

Yes, a macro with these commands would probably work. I’ll see what I can come up with.

you can create cycles inside cycles in a Marker track, also have several marker tracks.
Do you mean cycle markers (regions)?
Yes, it can look like this:
Sure. But, it’s a little too messy for my liking. Also, it inconveniently requires the marker track to be visible in order to wrap a cycle around the cycle marker.
Your other marker suggestion works great.
